WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2025) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Monday morning on Bertha Street, leaving a 19-year-old man dead.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1930 Bertha Street around 2:52 a.m., police said. When they arrived, they found Cameron Demon Napper Jr., 19, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Napper was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Winston-Salem Police Department.
The department’s Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the case. Police have not released details about possible suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
