WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Forsyth County man is facing several charges after deputies say he broke into his home, held his wife against her will and took her phone.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said 73-year-old Brian Justin Racin is charged with breaking and entering, second-degree kidnapping, larceny after breaking and entering, violating a domestic violence protective order, and interfering with emergency communications.
According to an arrest warrant, Racin is accused of entering the home on Hickman Lane during the night, preventing the victim from leaving and taking her iPhone. Officials said the woman later managed to escape and call for help.
Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Hickman Lane near Clemmons on Thursday. When they arrived, they found Racin sitting in his vehicle and took him into custody, the sheriff’s office said.
Racin is being held at the Forsyth County Jail with no bond and is expected to appear in Forsyth District Court on Friday.
In a statement, Chief Deputy Henry Gray Jr. said the sheriff’s office takes domestic-violence cases seriously and “will not tolerate abusers who violate and place others in fear.”
