Winston-Salem Student Arrested After Stolen Gun Found at Downtown School

In North Carolina's Forsyth County, a student aged 18 from Winston-Salem was taken into custody on Tuesday following the discovery of a stolen firearm inside the Winston-Salem Street School located in the downtown area.

 

Charles Michael Greene faces charges including possessing a firearm on school premises, carrying a concealed weapon, and having a stolen gun. An official document states that the handgun found on the school grounds had been reported as stolen with an estimated value of $509.

 

School personnel alerted the authorities after locating the firearm while conducting a routine inspection of the student's possessions. Upon notification, the Winston-Salem police arrived promptly, apprehended Greene without any complications, and placed him under arrest.

 

Greene is currently detained at the Forsyth County Jail with a bond amount of $15,000, awaiting further legal proceedings. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
