Winston-Salem police have charged a local woman with felony murder following a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred earlier this week.

Officers responded to a call around 1:14 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Burgandy Street, where 53-year-old Tammy Denise Long had been struck by a vehicle. Long was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators determined the crash was intentional. Authorities say the suspect, 37-year-old Moses Renee Arnold, was acquainted with the victim.

On Wednesday, members of the Winston-Salem Police Department’s SWAT team located and arrested Arnold. She is now facing a felony murder charge in connection with Long’s death.

The investigation remains active, and police encourage anyone with information to contact the WSPD or Crime Stoppers.
