Winston-Salem Police Investigating Shooting on West Twenty-Fourth Street

Winston-Salem, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that took place Sunday afternoon on the city’s north side.

 

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at 458 West Twenty-Fourth Street around 4:16 p.m. on June 29, 2025. According to a preliminary investigation, a disturbance outside the residence escalated, resulting in gunshots being fired.

 

One victim, identified as 26-year-old Takara Leeya Allen, was struck during the incident. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say her injuries are not life-threatening.

 

The investigation remains ongoing, and officers are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
